To give a unique head start on the usual holiday ballets will be a premiere of the fun-filled family show “The Holiday Gift ,” an original ballet inspired by the best of Nutcracker and the popular movie, “Frozen”.   Performances will be held at the Spreckels Theater in Rohnert Park, Saturday, November 15 at 2 pm and 7 pm.

The 1878 World’s Fair in Paris, France is the setting for the ballet,  created and choreographed by Martha O’Brien, director of The O’Brien Center of the Arts, and  Ikolo Griffin, a lead artist also  performing. With a cast from ages 5-85,  classically trained dancers  will perform the lively can-can,  amazing dolls,  snow fairies and princesses, and festive characters including ice skaters, penguins, pink poodles, and two sisters who will take the audience into a magical snowglobe  (first introduced at this Fair), where they learn the greatest gift is love.

O’Brien Center of the Arts is one of the area’s leading dance studios whose students have won many prestigious awards in a wide range of dance disciplines including ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop and  rhythmic gymnastics.
